Ewenique Acres

About

Ewenique Acres, a social enterprise located in the small township of Chisholm, is passionate about what they do and is dedicated to increasing access to food for individuals, families and their community. Through their CSA program and on-site farmstand, they have embraced a regenerative approach to their farming in the market garden, orchard and pastured-raised livestock. Recently completing its third year of the CSA program, they have continued expanding the market garden and orchard and built a small nursery greenhouse to start all its organically grown seedlings.

Ewenique Acres contributes to a healthier environment, reducing emissions and easing the strain on transport chains while positively impacting the health and well-being of the local economy and residents by alleviating food scarcity and increasing access to highly nutritious foods. Moreover, they are passionate about direct community engagement and establishing relationships with the people they serve. Ewenique Acres will continue to grow and develop to increase the number of local people it can feed with high-quality organic foods.

Financial Need

With the loan from the Fair Finance Fund, the farm will  increase its farming output and achieve financial stability with the help of our organization. The Fund supported Ewenique Acres in accessing capital for equipment and expansion activities including purchasing equipment and tools needed at the farm to increase capacity and serve nearby farmers markets. This will help them grow steadily for at least the next five years.
