Black River Co-operative
Black River Co-operative is a worker co-op made up of five local, land-based businesses working and living regeneratively in near Timmins, Ontario. They are northern farmers and foragers, builders and planners on the front line of climate and social action. Their work aims to improve the health and wellness of our community through nutrient dense naturally grown foods, ethically harvested products, community access to land and environmental responsibility.
Financing Need
The Fund provided a loan to Black River Co-operative to support the construction of a four-season, off-grid, solar-powered northern greenhouse and a new enterprise for micro-greens.
