Exciting Update From Inclusive Prosperity

We're excited to announce the incorporation of Inclusive Prosperity as a non-profit subsidiary of the Fair Finance Fund.

Inclusive Prosperity is a partnership between the Fair Finance Fund, Social Economy through Social Inclusion (SETSI), and the Learning Enrichment Foundation (LEF). This collaborative project works to overcome barriers for equity-deserving farmers through access to capital for land purchases. By assessing and redressing biases in governance, operations, and lending practices of conventional institutions, Inclusive Prosperity works towards an equitable and inclusive farming future.

"Incorporation marks a significant step towards our mission to racialized and other equity-seeking communities across Canada. We are dedicated to addressing the systemic barriers that racialized and equity-deserving individuals face in accessing capital for agriculture and agri-food processing. By creating pathways for these communities to secure financing, we aim to empower them to own farmland, grow sustainable agri-food processing businesses, and actively participate in shaping the future of Canada’s agricultural and food landscape. Through these initiatives, we strive to foster economic inclusion, food sovereignty, and sustainable development while creating lasting impact across the sector."

- Afua Asantewaa, Inclusive Prosperity Executive Director

Inclusive Prosperity builds on a 2022 feasibility study to ensure that all farmers have secure tenure to the farmland they need to thrive, building out community-led initiatives and striving to create opportunities for meaningful participation and economic empowerment.
