Introducing our new executive director
Dear Friends of the Fair Finance Fund,
I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of the Fair Finance Fund. It’s an honour to join this incredible organization, dedicated to empowering the local food and farm businesses at the heart of sustainable communities across Ontario.
I bring with me a deep passion for local food systems and a commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration. As co-founder of Mrktbox, a B-Corp-certified food hub, I worked to support over 150 farmers and food producers, helping to strengthen local economies and build connections between producers and their communities. My background also includes leading diverse teams, launching impactful initiatives, and working in areas as varied as avalanche forecasting and community-building projects.
At the Fair Finance Fund, I’m eager to build on the incredible foundation laid by Sally and the team at Fair Finance Fund. Together, we will continue to champion food equity, sustainable growth, and resilient local economies. I’m especially looking forward to collaborating with our partners, clients, and supporters to find new ways to empower the businesses we serve and expand our impact.

Dear friends and supporters,
It has been my great pleasure to work with you and all our partners, supporters, allies, staff and Board over the last 6 years. As of December 31, I am moving on from my position, leaving the Fair Finance Fund in excellent hands, including a stellar Board and established staff, and introducing our new Executive Director, Justin Abbiss.
I remain passionate and committed to work to support the local food and farm sector; I am proud of the work I have been able to do with a great Board and fantastic staff along the way. The Fair Finance Fund is well positioned to grow and thrive from this point; the need remains significant for the great food and farm entrepreneurs that ensure a flourishing local food sector in Ontario.
I am grateful for the time I have had with the Fund, and the amazing colleagues, supporters, entrepreneurs and allies I have been able to work with to make the Fair Finance Fund a leader in Canada’s social finance ecosystem. Thank you for all you do to make the world a better place!
