We Will Plant Lodge
The Ga Gitigemi (We Will Plant) is a project to empower Indigenous women and 2SLGBTTQQIA+ people to reclaim their place as the traditional agricultural leaders in their communities by helping them repatriate land and (re)learn their ancient traditions.
Their philosophies center on decolonizing agriculture and upholding social justice and anti-racist approaches to rebuilding resilient local food and farming systems for Indigenous people and communities. By focusing on traditional Indigenous ecological knowledge and ancestral farming methods to rebuild resiliency in their soils, they seek to empower Women and Gender Diverse People to (re)claim their place as the traditional agricultural leaders in their communities by helping them (re)cover and (re)learn their ecological practices.
