Linda Best, ONS, BSc Acadia, grew up on an Annapolis Valley farm; Medical Microbiologist and Gastroenterology Researcher; former Director of Capital District Health Authority; operated an apple orchard; founded Frame Plus Art which grew to three stores. Awareness of food-related health issues led her to help establish Friends of Agriculture and to found FarmWorks Investment Co-operative Limited, a Community Economic Development Investment Fund. FarmWorks has raised over $4 M which has helped support 130 food-related businesses across Nova Scotia.

Rav (she/her) is a young farmer and climate educator in Mississauga. She runs a food and climate justice organization called Shade of Miti where she supports sustainable food systems that are rooted in justice and sovereignty, and not threatened by climate change. As a farmer, Rav specializes in growing local and organic bitter melon, okra, and hot peppers. She has been involved in youth food policy work for the past few years, and is helping start Peel's first BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ Youth Food Circle.
